Club Life

Day 1 | Travel to Ketchikan, Alaska

The Steamboat Bay ground crew at Ketchikan International Airport welcomes arriving guests, collects their luggage, and transports them to their hotels via private coach. Guests with an early arrival to Ketchikan may enjoy an air, land, or walking tour of this historic port town, known as the “Salmon Capital of the World.”

Day 2 | Travel to Steamboat Bay, Noyes Island

At 5:15 a.m., the ground crew meets guests at their hotels for transfer to the sea-plane dock in Ketchikan. From there, guests board a floatplane for the scenic 40-minute flightseeing trip to Craig, Prince of Wales, en route viewing Alaska’s famed Inside Passage and the majestic Tongass National Forest. Guests continue by
boat to a secluded bay on Noyes Island where Steamboat Bay Fishing Club is located.

Guests are advised to pack only essentials for fishing (layered clothing, camera, prescriptions) in their carry-on bags. Upon arrival at Steamboat Bay, all other luggage is valeted directly to guest rooms.

Check-in at the Club takes place in the Lodge or Residence Great Room, where guests receive their room and boat assignments, Alaska fishing licenses, and King Salmon Stamps. They then either go straight to their boats and the fishing grounds, or enjoy a full breakfast before heading out. At the dock, heated cabin cruisers and U.S. Coast Guard licensed fishing guides await. Lunch and drinks are served on board during the day. Guests may also choose to return to the Club to dine.

“Insider Tip: Look for the humpback whale that likes to hang out in the bay just in front of The Lodge and The Residence.”

Personalized service is a mainstay at Steamboat Bay. Just let your guide know your preferences for on-water activities: all-day fishing, a half-day of fishing, a half-day of whale watching, a half-day of exploring.... Your stay is yours to invent.

All cabin cruisers return from fishing by 4:30 p.m. Guides will discuss and secure guest choice on fish trimming. Steamboat Bay’s seafood-processing crew professionally processes each guest’s catch according to preference.

Cocktails and Dinner
Cocktails and dinner are served in the Great Room of the Lodge and the Residence starting at 5 p.m. Each location's dedicated chef and kitchen crew prepare made-to-order dishes nightly, featuring fresh Alaska seafood, regional specialties, and gourmet favorites. Guests with any dietary restrictions or special requests are invited to complete a Guest Profile in advance of arrival so the chef may meet their needs.

Topside and Evening Diversions
For after-fishing enjoyment, guests may explore Steamboat Bay via kayak, on a nature walk, or by soaking up the view from the hot tubs conveniently located on the wraparound decks of the Lodge and the Residence. Diversions also include a big-screen TV, game tables, cigars, and open bars with premium wines, beer, and spirits.

Welcome to the Club.
